Oak Winged Griffin Sideboard - R J Horner

Victorian solid tiger Oak hooded & standing winged Griffin sideboard. We will attribute this piece to R J Horner and it is amazing. The hooded top is arching and finished with a shaped acanthus leaf & C scroll carved pediment including the signature large Egg. The top is supported by tapering round columns having acanthus carved capitals above and open candle stands with magnificently carved standing winged Griffins & Egg on chest. The base cabinet with roll front top drawers the front on the center drawer is finished with shell carved pulls carved leaf foliage & Egg. The center door under is bow shaped having carved leaf foliage and hanging bell floral decoration.The front posts with carved Griffin faces over hanging bell flowers and Egg carved ornamentation.
