Dolphin Hall Bench Victorian Quarter Sawn Oak

Victorian quarter sawn Oak Dolphin deacons bench. This bench is arabesque carved with motifs of rope twist borders scrolling acanthus foliage acanthus gadroon carved edges and gallouche borders. The seat back is finished with twin raised panels having large carved North Wind faces and scrolling acanthus foliage. The arms are magnificently carved down turned Dolphins with curling tails. The sides are raised panel and the front with carved acanthus foliate panels. The seat opens to reveal the large inner cupboard and the bench is set on carved paw foot. The bench has been cut down on the back at some point in its life and was well done
