Paw Foot Oak Deacons Bench - Victorian

Victorian solid tiger Oak deacon or hall bench. This bench is very crisply carved throughout. The back is raised panel construction with an arching central panel with carved scrolling acanthus foliage ribbon and bow hanging bell flowers as well as a large shield. The top has a lovely crest carved acanthus foliage with tapering beads. The arms finished with fantastic open mouth Lions heads having curling mane above and acanthus carved foliate decoration all the way down the S shaped front posts. The bench is set on a crisply carved in a ball & claw foot. The seat bottom opens to reveal the storage cupboard which is clean inside and the front apron is finished with a lovely shaped bottom edge and carved foliate decoration
