Quarter Sawn Oak Hall Bench - R J Horner
Signed R J Horner Victorian solid tiger Oak Hall bench or stand. This bench made by Horner in New York between 1895 to 1900 has been professionally restored and is in fantastic condition. The top crown carved with a large North Wind face and swirling acanthus detail. The large bevel mirror is original and in fairly good condition. The hat and or coat hooks are fantastic Arts + Crafts at its best. The bench has large bearded and open mouth lions heads carved on the front of the arms. There are more than one of Horner's signature eggs carved into this substantial piece the top of the seat the seat front and sides of the base are nicely finished with beautifully carved scrolling leaf detail
