Square Mahogany Banquet Dining Table

Victorian solid Mahogany 57" square banquet dining table with 7 leaves. This table is stunning very heavy solid and of the highest quality construction possibly R J Horner or equal too. The top opens very smoothly and all 7 leaves fit flat and straight into the top. The corners of the shaped apron are finished with acanthus carved decoration. This banquet table features four masterfully carved standing winged & bearded griffins with curling rat tails and lions paw foot all are in excellent condition. The table top is supported generously by these heavy winged griffins standing on the corners as well as the original split cross-form stretchers and heavy turned baluster center legs. The cross-form stretchers are finished with baroque foliate carvings around the edge. Each of the stretchers are supported as well by three turned columns making this extremely large and heavy dining table very solid and sturdy. The table is set on large carved lions paw feet.
