Attributed to R J Horner this Victorian solid tiger Oak executive desk or library table is one of the very finest examples of just why Horner was so respected in the world of very impressive carvers. This monumental table is finished on all four sides with deep relief carvings of scrolling foliage with crisp detail and textured background. There are as well large shields with the signature Horner ribbed egg in the middle and full figural Merman. The top is generously supported by eight heavy square fluted columns finished with deeply relief carved capitals. The columns are set on a very heavy platform base and heavy bun foot
