R J Horner Rococo Gilt Frame Settee

Exceptional Gilt frame Rococo settee or sofa attributed to R J Horner. This sofa has most of the original gold gilding still bright and the frame is entirely carved arabesque shell flowers foliage & C scrolls. The front of the arms with Putti or cherub angels and set on tortuous curve seat front & legs. This craftsmanship combines fantasy & charm. We have had the settee professionally re upholstered

    We bought a table from Dennis in late 2010. About a year later, my daughter caused some damage to the table. Dennis thought she might have exacerbated a hairline crack. Dennis drove close to two hours to our house, examined the table, took it to a craftsman to be repaired, and paid for the repair himself. That is a level of service that one rarely sees these days. It is a delight to deal with someone who looks after the customer. I would not hesitate to recommend Antiques by Design.
