Victorian Solid Oak Throne or Hall Chair

Victorian solid Oak throne or hall chair fit for a king. This chair is wonderfully carved throughout. The heavy back is pierced and finished with large floral carved C scrolls open mouth & bearded lion's heads and a central shield with downturned sheath. The back posts extend up with open mouth & bearded lions heads finished with pompadour carved manes. The arms have foliate carved top edges ending on roll fronts. The solid Oak seat has very nice chip grain and the front legs with foliate carved crest end on a very interesting paw foot. This chair looks to be in original finish or an older refinish
