Art Nouveau Quartered Oak Dining Chairs

Set of 6 Art Nouveau quartered Oak dining chairs. This incredible set consists of 2 arm chairs and 4 side chairs and they are substantial in size. The style is transitional reflecting both the later Art Nouveau and earlier Arts + Crafts periods. All of the chairs have padded upholstered backs set in heavy Oak frame with large shaped crest rails having deeply carved sunflower heads scrolling acanthus leaves berries and fantastic scroll shell or horn of plenty crest. The upholstery finished nicely with a bead border and the seat rail with shaped bottom edge carved to match nicely with the crest rail. The arms on the captain's chairs are fantastic very nicely shaped with acanthus carved top edge at the back and the fronts carved in a snail form which could also portray a dilly-dallyer...at the dinner table. The arms are nicely supported under by turned posts set on gadroon carved block ending on the nicely turned and fluted front legs and turned bun foot. The chairs are also supported by H stretchers joining the legs together. We have had the padded backs and seat professionally re upholstered and the chairs are in beautiful re finished condition

Smaller packages weighing up to 100 LBS we ship by Greyhound Package Express to the closest terminal to your address which is where you will pick up from. For all larger pieces we ship by blanket wrap movers to your address.
