Rococo Mahogany Cheval Dressing Mirror on Stand - Karpen
Very unusual Mahogany Rococo cheval glass or dressing mirror on stand signed Karpen Chicago New York. The top of the mirror frame or pediment is a deeply carved cornice of Rococo motifs shells heavy C scrolls and scrolling foliage. The mirror is full height and the balance of the frame very nicely shaped and crisply carved entwining foliage & flowers with the base having evolute scallop and central crest of Fleur De Lis. The cheval base is constructed out of richly grained flame Mahogany and finished with serpentine shaped apron and drawer front. The very finely cast hardware is original and the cabinet or stand is set on arabesque scroll foot
