Signed R J Horner Victorian carved Mahogany bar / cellarette. A case or sideboard for holding bottles of wine or liquor. The cabinet is in very nice original finish with all of the original hardware ormolu handles and comes with 2 original keys. The top section has 2 solid Mahogany doors which are very deep as the inside of the doors are fitted with compartments to hold decanters or larger bottles as well as small holders for pipes. The inside of the upper cupboard has a mirror back and slots along each side for small bottles or glasses and along the back for hanging glasses. The doors are panel construction finished out of Flame Mahogany and adorned with finely cast Brass wreaths. The front corners finished with tapering round columns having Corinthian capitals and cast Brass hanging bell floral ormolu. Under the upper cupboard is a drawer with the original cast Brass lions head pulls and keyhole escutcheon and is fitted for game pieces chips dice cards etc. The lower cupboard with panel door front and Brass wreath ormolu as well as tapering round columns having Corinthian capitals and cast Brass hanging bell floral ormolu. Inside the door is an upper compartment being tin lined which would have been storage for tobacco. At some time the door front was painted. Under is a large open cupboard and the cabinet is set on carved hairy paw front foot
